The other day my friend Emily and I went to West Coast Waffles to try their delish gluten free, buckwheat waffles. I was really impressed when they mentioned that they even had a seperate celiac friendly grill to avoid any cross-contamination. Emily is celiac, and I can now understand how frusturating it is to eat out and have to ask a million questions just to make sure your food is prepared without gluten in it. Em your a gem!
Back to the waffles, they were AMAZING! We ordered one savoury and one sweet waffle and split both. The BBQ chicken waffle basically tasted like a BBQ chicken pizza. The waffle was not too sweet and did not throw off the taste of the savoury toppings at all. The banana, peanut butter & chocolate chip waffle was fantastic with real banana chunks and chocolate chips baked in the waffle. Wow. I left there in a waffle haze with a very happy tummy!
Not only did we leave satisfied, but we left with an extra waffle to split! The server actually messed up punching in our original order, as we actually ordered the Veggie GF waffle, but the server insisted he make us the right one. In the end, it was no problem at all as the BBQ chicken waffle was amazing! That is what I call fantastic customer service! Gotta love people and places like that!
I highly recommend trying this joint, not only for the waffles but the people!
An added bonus of West Coast Waffles is that on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday they are open till 2:30 am. No more Second Slice pizza for me after a night one the town. West Coast Waffles will definitely be my go-to place!
Question of the Day: Have you tried West Coast Waffles? If not, lets make a plan to go!!
